Between our day to day activities at The Good Flock, we occasionally host Design/Build Workshops. The workshops give us the opportunity share and teach our design and development process with other creatives. We have held workshops with all sorts of creatives; from industrial designers, architects, graphic designers to writers, some of which have had little to no making experience.
Our design-build workshops are full days separated into two distinct parts. The first half of the day the team designs their own project in 2D, then learns how to make a full scale pattern from their design. The second part of the day is where the team turns their design into reality by marking, cutting, and sewing materials we use at The Good Flock. They get to use the industrial sewing machines and leather working tools at our studio to finish their products. In order to make the workshops happen, we work with experienced instructors, patternmakers, and sewers. At the end of the day everyone walks away with a piece that they can be proud of.
If you have a team of creatives that are interested in doing a Design-Build Workshop at The Good Flock, please contact [email protected].
